In a stunning case of an event I have previously had constructive criticism for in a video review inviting me back, I got to spend my morning with SailGP having a tour of their technical site for the New York City race.

I previously reviewed their season finale race last year in San Francisco. SailGP had wanted to invite me to their Los Angeles race as that’s where I live, but I was at my friends wedding during both that race and the San Francisco race that now follows it.

So New York it is!

(Also for the sake of disclosure though I am here as a creator I was not paid money by SailGP nor did they cover my travel at all, they did give me this tour and two free premium tickets in exchange for a Youtube video and an Instagram post)

My tour was at 10:30 AM at the SailGP Technical Site located in New Jersey for the weekend. It was a fairly decent sized group of us and made up of content creators, podcasters, and traditional freelance media writers. Pretty much everyone was filming either with cameras or their phones and some had full podcasting audio equipment with them to record the whole time.

Our tour started with Lana introducing our tour guide Tom**, who immediately told us there were no silly questions and we could ask whatever we wanted at any time. Then he pointed out the shipping containers behind our meeting spot and how we would be seeing them multiple times throughout the site, this is where the boats would be stored after the weekend was over. The boats were initially designed with the goal of being able to break down and fit in these shipping containers.
